Day 1,072: Blackout
This morning did not go as planned. I had my eye surgery at 9am, so I stayed home in the morning until I dropped off Livvie at day care.
The procedure went as excepted, but I only made it a minute after it was over before I blacked out. Some back story…. so the surgery was to seal off a hole in my retina. The process to fix that is to use a laser to heat up the fluid in the eye to attach the retina to the back of the eye as a preventative measure. These laser shots are the most intense bright light I have ever experienced, and the succession of multiple shots back to back built up pressure in my eye. I had to get 160 of these shots over a period of only a few minutes.
Unfortunately, the sensory nervous system malfunctioned and stopped regulating my breathing and blood flow… so I passed out. Then they called the paramedics where I came out of that blackout with a shortness of breath, sweaty, pale, and clammy. After a few minutes I was back to normal, however they did urge me to take the rest of the day easy. So I took an Uber home and worked from home the rest of the day, but at an easier pace.
I picked up my later later, then picked up Livvie before therapy.
