Day 556: Not Sharing Books
This morning Livvie had her 18 month checkup and all went well. She was not able to hear the heart murmur, and her weight is doing okay. The current struggle is her food pickiness. It is hard to tell what she might turn away when you feed her. Dr Openshaw wants her to start speech therapy, so we will find a place for Amy to take her to.
I dropped her off at school on the way back to work, and it was cute to see them in the middle of an activity. Usually it is free play during the 4pm hour, so I do not get to see structured activities. Livvie had no hesitation and went right into the group activity.
When I picked her up, she had a book on her lap, and she handed it to my dad to start to read. Livvie then went to grab the book from the girl next to her. The teacher gave the girl another book and Livvie went for that one too.
We picked up dinner on the way home, and Livvie was given a balloon by the manager at Gelson’s. Livvie still shows us how picky she is during eating, and mostly refused dinner. I tried reading short story LEGO books to her upstairs as the pediatrician recommends that for speech development and Livvie only made it through one book before wanting her animal books. She is definitely Amy’s child as she LOVES animals in all forms: Balloon, live, picture books, etc.
We then moved to the office play, where I noticed Livvie taking out DUPLO bricks, and placing them (in a pile) on a baseplate. It was very cute to see her learning the stages of building. After that, I dumped out the entire piece bucket and let her play with all the bricks. She loved running her hands through them.
We tried the same food after her bath, but she was stubborn and so I resorted to at least a banana.
